I currently serve as Head of the Scientific Strategy Unit at Vall d’Hebron Institute of Oncology (VHIO, Spain), where we work on aligning our institutional strategy with emerging scientific priorities, fostering cross-border collaborations, and helping translate research opportunities into coordinated European initiatives with potential impact for patients and citizens. As VHIO expands its activities in cancer prevention, joining Cancer Prevention Europe provides an excellent opportunity to contribute to initiatives aligned with European guidelines and strategies to reduce the burden of cancer. Working within CPE allows us to connect with leading institutions across Europe that share a common ambition to advance cancer prevention. It also enables VHIO to be part of the European conversation alongside institutions with strong programs in cancer prevention, while reinforcing our prevention-oriented research capabilities that enrich our local research ecosystem and support initiatives aligned with European strategies and priorities in cancer prevention.
