She is Full professor and Chair of Nutrition and Disease at Wageningen University, the Netherlands. She is trained as a nutrition scientist and a cancer epidemiologist at Wageningen University, the Harvard School of Public Health and the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center.
Her research over the last 40 years focused on the role of lifestyle in cancer prevention and prognosis including observational research as well as intervention studies. As a delegate of the World Cancer Research Fund International – core member of CPE – she brings expertise on nutrition in primary and tertiary prevention to the steering group of CPE.
