I serve as a Chief Scientific Officer and Head of the Scientific Management Area at the Vall d’Hebron Institute of Oncology (VHIO), Barcelona, Spain. I am a member of the VHIO’s Board of Directors and Internal Scientific Committee and have a key role in designing the scientific strategy and prioritization of research lines and programs at VHIO. During the last two decades, our institution has promoted internally the development of research lines in Cancer Prevention, leading to a new Pillar in our scientific strategic plan, including the implementation of new groups dedicated to this discipline. This has been reinforced through our participation in international collaborative projects focused on pathologies like colorectal or breast cancer.
Our participation within Cancer Prevention Europe further strengthens our commitment to Cancer Prevention, enabling collaboration, shared expertise, and greater impact in translating prevention research into improved cancer outcomes.
